10yo bay KWPN Warmblood gelding by the famous KWPN stallion, Rhythmn and Blues. Stunning, floaty movement, around 16.3hh. Student got him as a project a year ago, seeing that he had some challenges but was not told much about his past. He was treated for ulcers and slowly built back up with the goal of riding with lots of groundwork, lunging and long-lining. He is a healthy, trusting horse again now and appears sound. He was restarted under saddle at walk and trot, but was never happy. He will stall and say "no" when asked to trot. Nothing dangerous, just some threatenings of bucks to let you know something doesn't feel ok. Recently investigated by a vet, we discovered that he had kissing spines in 4 vertebrae that explained the behavior. Luckily there is a surgery possible to correct, but it costs around $4,000, which is more than his teenage owner can take on. Please note, THIS HORSE IS NOT CURRENTLY RIDEABLE. We are hoping to find him either a pasture companion home or someone that is willing to invest in the cost of the surgery to give him a chance at becoming a riding horse again. It would be a gamble, but this is absolutely a top caliber horse, and he is still young. He also has some changes in his stifles but is sound without weight on his back.
